ACTDA installs 80 units of solar powered street lights in Awka

AWKA Capital Territory Development Authority has installed 80 units of solar-powered street lights in some parts of Agulu Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area.
Speaking to newsmen, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr. Ossy Onuko said that the light which was donated by a philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Udezue – Okeatu, will not only enhance the aesthetics of the area, boost security but will also entrench nightlife which will increase the economic base of Anambra State.
Mr. Onuko maintained that the gesture is in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration initiative of building a livable and prosperous homeland, where people can transact their legitimate businesses and enjoy themselves at any given time.
He commended the benefactor for his benevolence and love for humanity, and disclosed that the agency is ready to partner any individual or group who have meaningful ideas or contributions towards building a better Anambra, while encouraging other well-meaning individuals to emulate the donor by supporting their various communities
Mr. Onuko urged the people of Agulu Awka to own and protect the lights and other government facilities in the area from vandals, as the lights and its installations cost a lot of money.
He further assured that Awka Capital Territory Development Authority will continue to live up to the mandate establishing it and warned those displaying their goods and wares along the roads to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
