Speaking at the event, presidential candidate of Labour Party(LP) and former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi commended the efforts of the writers and pointedly made it clear that he would be the president of Nigeria because he has unwavering faith in the judiciary.
The Labour Party presidential candidate who believes in the Judiciary as the hope of the common man said that he would eventually be declared the president of Nigeria.
“I must be the president of this country, we will fix this country. I am not desperate, I will not run away nor encourage the Obidients to take resort to riot.
“I respect to court; we are committed to the destiny of this country and I will accept the court’s verdict.
Obi expressed joy on the performance of Anambra children in public examination and recalled that it was his administration’s initiative to hand over the schools originally owned by them and gave them grants to upgrade teaching facilities which has made the students to be high flyers in national competitive examinations.
In the welcome address, Professor Stella Okunna, who described the book as a prodigious literary work, described Obi as a man of integrity, hardworking and a grassroots oriented politician, adding that Nigeria will be blessed if he becomes the president.
The erudite mass communication scholar prayed that the God will touch the Presidential Election Tribunal judges to stand by the truth.
In his remarks on behalf of traditional rulers present, the traditional ruler of Onitsha, Obi Alfred Achebe, described Obi as a man of destiny with abundance of God’s favour.
The chairman of the occasion, Professor Ogbuagu, commended the authors of the 220 articles in the prodigious book, saying that Peter Obi has all it takes to pilot the corporate affairs of the country and reinvent true fiscal federalism to enable the country join the developed countries of the world.
Also speaking, Senator Victor Umeh, who has been reelected as Senator in the just concluded general elections said that anybody who dismisses Peter Obi does so at his own peril.
While taking five copies of the book for N500,000, the Senator, who described Peter Obi as a pathfinder said: “Peter Obi is a news maker. His trajectories in governorship election and impeachment has contributed a lot in the Nigeria’s jurisprudence”.
Eminent personages who graced the epochal event were the former female governor of Anambra State, Dame VirgyEtiaba, Igwe Obodoako of Agulu, Igwe of Nise, Igwe Ifitedunu, Igwe Joel of Umuawulu, Bishop Paul Nwachukwu, represented by Pastor Alphonsus Ginikanwa, former Head of Service, Mrs Ngozi Melifeonwu, and permanent secretaries that worked with Obi,namely: Dr. Austin Nnalue, Ogbaji, and other prominent personalities from far and wide.
