Police battle kidnappers, rescue two victims in Delta

POLICE in Delta State have rescued two kidnapped victims unhurt few hours after their abduction by suspects operating on tricycle in Ughelli, Delta State.
Confirming the development, the Delta Police Command Image Maker, DSP Bright Edafe said the rescue operation was a huge success, stressing that the victim a 31 year old OvigweDagaba and 29 year ObinnaNwoko were rescued unhurt after their abduction.
“The police operative on intelligence information engaged the suspects in a gun duel at Usiefurum roundabout with the four suspected kidnappers who forced their victims into a Toyota Corolla car of one of the victims and fled towards Udu town”.
“Again luck ran against them as the police operative acting on distress call trailed and intercepted then at the ECN Junction along Agbarho-Ughelli road”.
“It was the second gun battle that forced the kidnappers to abandon their victims and escaped into the bush with various degrees of bullet wounds, the victims were rescued unhurt”.
Edafe further confirmed that upon search on the vehicle, 26 phones of assorted kinds were recovered, one cut to size locally made single barrel gun, 38 rounds of cartridges, two expanded cartridges, money point POS machine, four power banks. Meanwhile the victims have expressed gratitude to the police and those who assisted in the rescue operations.
