Nollywood actress laments attack in Lagos governorship election

NOLLYWOOD actress, Chioma Akpotha has cried out after she was attacked by thugs armed with knives and pistols from her Lekki Polling Unit voting centre on Saturday.
Chioma Akpotha, who was terrified lamented that she had done her accreditation when armed thugs came brandishing dangerous weapons including knives and firearms and scared voters away. The incident, according to her happened in the full view of policemen who did not restrain the armed hoodlums.
As she fled in her vehicle, the hoodlums destroyed some of her vehicle accessories, including side mirror.
Ms Akpotha, who encountered some armed soldiers on her way refused entreaties to go back to vote at the centre under their protection saying: “I can’t go there to vote anymore. They attacked me. They were with guns. I am so scared I can’t go back, they attacked me.”
Her resistance was emboldened by the injunctions of some of her minders in her vehicle who reminded her, “your children are your priority.
Responding, the Nollywood thespian said in Yoruba, “Guys, guys, guys. Nigeria tishele,” meaning Nigeria is finished.
“I did accreditation but I could not vote. It’s not because of Nigeria I will come and start telling stories, it’s a shame, it’s a shame.”
