Umahi orders resumption of new security outfits in Ebonyi

EBONYI State Governor,  David Umahi, has directed the immediate resumption of activities of the new security outfits recently created by the state House of Assembly, namely Ebonyi Neighbourhood Watch fashioned after the Neighborhood Watch in Anambra State and Ebonyi Vigilante Corps, fashioned after the Amotekun in South West Nigeria.

  Governor Umahi disclosed this on Wednesday, while briefing  pressmen at his office, New Government House, Centenary City,  Abakaliki.

  He directed that the Ebonyi Security Outfits are not to operate on the two election days of February 25, and March 11, 2023 respectively for General Elections.

  Umahi also said that “strict compliance is demanded as the security agencies have been mandated to ensure same is not flouted.”

  Governor Umahi, therefore wished Ebonyians and all the candidates involved a very peaceful elections
