Ekweozor’s books presentation c’tee pay Thank You Visit to Nnabuife
Members of Books Presentation Committee of the ‘Origin of Ndigbo’ and ‘Replacing Faulty Ideologies,’ led by Igwe Joel Egwuonwu (Ezeudo II of Umuawulu), Tuesday, paid a Thank You Visit to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation, publisher of National Light group of newspapers, Sir Chuka Nnabuife at his office, in Awka.
Appreciating the efforts and contributions of Nnabuife in the successful book presentation on Saturday, Igwe Egwuonwu prayed for God’s upliftment, peace on his family, office and the country at large.
The author of the book, Revd Canon Charles Amobi Ekweozor said Ndigbo has origin, and that seeing them now and before shows that there is a gap.
He said it is important to understand human issues and values such as Igbo understanding of land, law, order, religion, culture , Igbo history, identity, especially Omenani.
Ekweozor stated that land is the only inheritance that makes one to have value, but regretted that these days, those who don’t have land, have voice.
He observed that Ndigbo lost focus, identity, value after the civil war which is loss of origin, history, identity and personality, adding that human personality of any being is rooted in his or her race, ethnicity, religion and culture.
According to him, the book is a way Ndigbo can recover and restore what they have lost in modern Nigeria after the civil war and a means of revival among the Igbo that will make them to achieve their dream in no distant time, which will tell who they are .
Publication and Public Consultant and a member of the committee, Dr Dennis Ekemezie said the book will not end in Anambra, but nationwide, noting that it is a book that should be acknowledged at all levels.
In his remarks, Nnabuife thanked the committee for the visit, saying there must be a discourse on the books, which he described as audacious,.
Commending Canon Ekweozor for his intellectual confidence in writing the books, Nnabuife stressed the need to have a team of healthy competitors that will be bringing ideas to Igbo land.
“The reason why there are age grades in communities are for people to compete with one another”.
He urged the author to endeavour to do more and equally commended Igwe Egwuonwu and the committee members for their individual and collective efforts towards the success of the books presentation.
