Knights of St John Int’l to honour Cardinal Okpaleke

ARRANGEMENTS have been concluded by members of Knights of St John International, Commandery 434 and LUAX 363, Awka, to hold a civic reception in honour of their former spiritual adviser, Peter Cardinal Okpaleke.
The event, which will commence with a Pontifical Mass by 11am on Saturday, at knights of St John International Temple, St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka, will attract dignitaries, including members of the Supreme Subordinate Board from the federal and state levels from various commandaries and top government officials.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State will be the Special Guest of honour, while the Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, His Eminence, Peter Ebele Cardinal Okpaleke and the Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor will be the Chief Guests of Honour, even as the Awka Grand Commandery President, Brig General Jonathan Ezeuochu, Worthy President, Commandery 434, Awka, Major Vincent Chike Otikpa, Grand Respected President, Awka, Noble Lady Lois Onyali and Respected Preident LAUX 363, Lady Josephine Okoli will be the Chief Hosts.
According to the president of the commandary, Sir Vincent Otikpa, who spoke in an interview when he led a team of his members to National Light, Cardinal Okpaleke as their spiritual director was perfect in his job of overseeing the affairs of the commandary; guiding and advising them spiritually and otherwise as the case may be.
Otikpa noted that Okpaleke continued to show interest in the affairs of the commandary after he left as their spiritual director and played a major role in the knighthood when they had a problem.
