ANAMBRA State Deputy Governor, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has called on local government authourities and community leaders to assist the state government in delivering on its mandate of quality works in the state, by monitoring the activities of contractors handling all road projects across the state.

Dr. Ibezim made the call at the Government House, Awka during a meeting with local government and community leaders in the state recently.

The deputy governor described local government and community heads, including local government chairmen, Presidents-general, and traditional rulers as the eyes of government in their various communities and council areas.

He stressed the need for them to monitor the ongoing construction works in their areas and report any abnormalities noticed to the state government for immediate action.

Dr Ibezim disclosed that the Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s government signed an agreement with contractors to deliver projects that will outlive two decades before the contracts were awarded to them.

He noted that the present administration is out to deliver projects that will stand the test of time, which according to him, is part of the plans towards making Anambra State a livable and prosperous home land.
