In Anambra, vulnerable groups receive FG’s cash grants

VULNERABLE groups in Anambra State have started to receive cash grants from the federal government In partnership with the state government.

  Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development , Sadiya Farouq has said that  the distribution started  at Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, and witnessed by Governor Charles Soludo. 

  According to the minister, the social investment program is a programme of the federal government under the leadership of President Buhari, designed to give a living hand to many of the poorest and vulnerable people of the state.

  The programme,  which is being implemented in partnership with the state government  is expected to assist 3222 beneficiaries across  the 21 local government. areas.

  Meanwhile President Buhari has directedthat 15 percent of the total number of the beneficiaries be specifically be allocated to citizens with special needs.
