Idemili South Chairman commends Nnokwa for peaceful town union election

The Transition Chairman Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State, Hon Mrs Amaka Obi has commended the Nnokwa community for conducting an adjudged transparent town union election under a peaceful atmosphere.
Mrs Obi observed that the election was conducted under the watch of Nnokwa community cabinet members, Youths and elders, Anambra State government officials and Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU) delegates following accepted constitutional provisions of the community.
She advised the newly elected executives of Nnokwa Progress Union (NPU) led by Wing Commander, Joe Ezeamyika Rtd to partner with both the Local and State Government in rendering acceptable service to his community and Ndi Anambra at large.
“I am safe here and happy to see that Ndi Nnokwa are conducting their election as brothers. It is not a war zone as experienced in some other communities during town union elections.
“I worked well with the outgoing President General, Barrister Emeka Mmaduabuchi and I look forward to working with the new executive for a new face of Anambra led by the solution Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo,” Mrs Obi said.
Moreover, the outgoing PG, Barrister Mmaduabuchi who cited the restoration of electric power in Nnokwa community, the construction of Nnokwa ultramodern shopping plaza (nearly completed) and brokering of peace in the community as some of his achievements enjoined Nnokwa people to support the new exco to do better than him.
“Achievement is relative. With the help and trust of my people, I did my best within three years. Let my successor do his best too. Leadership is continuity. Let them complete the shopping plaza and our Civic center amongst other plans they may have,” Mmaduabuchi said.
The newly elected NPU executives as elected 29th December 2022 include President General,
Wing commander Joe Ezeanyika rtd, Chief John Aniakor (1st vice PG), Mr modestus Ogbuezi (2nd vice PG), Barrister Ikenna Okwudili (Secretary General), Ebuka Chukwujekwu (Assistant Secretary General).
Others are Maximus Ubah (Financial secretary), Chief Ben Ogbuezi (Treasurer), Victor Eze (Publicity secretary), Ejike Nzegwu, (Home secretary) Obiagwu Ifeanacho (Provost), Kenneth Ezeokweka (Social welfare), Edward Obiora (Circular bearer Etiti quarter), Emeka Ofoegbu (Circular bearer Nnaku quarter), Emmanuel Okoyeudo (Circular bearer Ishite quarter).
In his acceptance speech, Chief Joe Ezeanyika after thanking the election Returning officers led by Chief Joachin Ezeike, Cabinet members led by Chief Richard Okelu, and the entire Nnokwa community for finding him worthy to lead NPU again promised to run an inclusive leadership that will witness numerous achievements.
