Ziyech wage demands, problem for Milan

MILAN continue to be linked with Chelsea and Morocco star, Hakim Ziyech but his salary remains a major stumbling block.
The Rossoneri had already been close to a deal for Ziyech over the summer before deciding to invest their resources in the purchase of Belgium international, Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge.
He has struggled so far and Brahim Diaz isn’t in great shape either, so Ziyech is a big target for the January transfer window.
According to Sport Mediaset, the Moroccan would be more than happy to come to San Siro on loan with option to buy at the end of the season.
The main problem is that he commands wages of €7-8m per season and those are at the very top of the Milan salary cap.
In fact, that figure would only be permitted for one player in the whole squad, Rafael Leao, if he chooses to sign an extension.
Ziyech currently earns approximately €6m per season at Stamford Bridge and would favour a pay rise after his excellent showing at the 2022 World Cup, helping Morocco become the first ever African side to reach the semi-finals.
