Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised to turn the Southeast into Taiwan of Africa if elected President come 2023.
Tinubu said this during the Ebonyi State APC presidential rally/governorship campaign flag-off at the Pa OrutaNgele Township stadium.
He noted that the region possesses the human capital to be able to achieve this.
He said what the Southeast needed to achieve this is for government to create enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the region.
He said his government will build the necessary infrastructure like roads and railways and negotiate with agitators in the region to achieve peace and security.
He also said that his administration will invest massively in education.
“Education is the greatest weapon against poverty. We will reform the education sector,” he promised.
He described Umahi as an accomplished leader, as he commended his infrastructural development in the state.
He said Umahi’s infrastructure developmental gaits in Ebonyi marveled him while touring some parts of the state to commission his projects. He noted that with the caliber of the gubernatorial candidate of the state, Francis Nwifuru, Ebonyi people have nothing to regret, and assured them of more transformational projects if emerged president in 2023.
Earlier in his remarks, Governor David Umahi declaredthat Ebonyi citizens are adherents of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and other contenders of the party both at the state and national levels.
The governor, who expressed optimism about the victory of the APC candidates in all elective positions come 2023 polls, insisted that Ebonyi people have no option more than voting massively for Tinubu and other APC contenders in the state.
