Autocrashes kill 14 in Kano, Yobe

NINE passengers died after their vehicle plunged into Fada Dam in Gwarzo Local Government, Kano State.

Kano State Fire Service spokesman Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi confirmed the incident in a statement he issued today.

Explaining that the incident happened on Saturday at about 6.45 pm, he said there were about 12 passengers in the Katsina State-bound Golf wagon car passengers from Kano.

According to him, nine persons died while three persons were rescued

“The incident happened on Saturday, November 19, 2022. The state fire service received an emergency call through Ali Mai Faci, that at about 18:45 hours, a vehicle carrying twelve passengers plunged into Fada dam Gwarzo LGA.The accident occurred as a result of a faulty vehicle parked in the middle of the road without proper beckoning for motorists to take caution,” he said.

Also, five perished in a road traffic accident in Bara, Gulani Local Government Area of the state.
