Workers  rejoice over returning of revenue window to LG system.



Dunukofia Local Government workers

Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Awka, Vin Ifeanyi Ezeaka and the board members, Thursday, visited two local g governments in the state, Awka South and Dunukofia Local Governments Areas in the state.

The visits were to farmilarise with the workers and inform them of a new development in the system and seek for their support to enable the system move forward.

The chairman said the reason for their appointment is to revive, renew,   re- orient, recreate and bring change to the system for the betterment of their children and their happiness after retirement.

He made mentionof lack of accountability, lateness, absenteeism and cover up as a cankerworm creeping the local government, saying that henceforth, defaultment will not be tolerated. “If you make the system productive, the minimum wage will be increased. The governor will change your condition; he is a visionary leader. He needs your support,”he concluded.

He promised to reward the best staff and said the government will bring  back the revenue window back to the local government with their cooperation and support.

Ezeaka emphasized on the need to install electric machine in the LGs   for proper attendance of workers.

The chairmen, Awka South LGA,  ThankGod Anagor and that of Dunukofia, Onyemaobi Austin Noyelum thanked the chairman  and the board for the visit ,adding that it is a kind of motivation to the workers, even  as he  advised those who have  not been serious with their jobs to sit up and move with the vision of Governor Charles Soludo for the betterment of the system

 Branch Chairmen, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees ( NULGE), Awka South LGA, Comrade lfeoma Okeke and that of  Dunukofia,  Ngozi Okonkwo, thanked the commissioner and the board members for their vist to  the LGs,  especially Governor Charles Soludo, who is a no nonsense man. They appealing to him to revive the salary of the workers in the LGs, and bring back the revenue  to the LGs  for the   Finance Department to be busy in the schedule of their duties, training of workers and promotion as at  when due.

Earlier in his speech, Member 1 in the commission, Azubuike Okoye, encouraged workers to always avoid lateness and come to work on time to avoid being transferred to the  commission as have been done previously in Idemmili South.

Those present at the visit were   Member 2,   Mr Uchenna Okafor ,  Member 3, Prof. Mrs Ngozi Egwuim,  Member 4, Mrs Anthonia Tabansi Okoye, Administrative Head and Secretary,Local Government Service Commission,  Stan Nwatah  and others.
