TRANSITION Committee Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Chris Obiora has commenced palliative works on the roads within Nnewi metropolis days afterhe assumed office.
Obiora while speaking with newsmen in his office at Nnewi, said he came prepared to pilot the affairs in the council .
He maintained that Nnewi being the commercial hub of Anambra State has a lot of critical issues to be tackled, adding that the palliative works on some major roads like Ibeto Junction and many others will help reduce traffic jam and road accidents this yuletide season.
Obiora noted that he has mapped out strategic plans to educate the market women selling on the road and other road users on the dangers of road obstruction.
The local government boss further stated that he would revive some of the health centers that are not functional and also rehabilitate some dilapidated schools in the area.
In the angle of security, the transition chairman assured residents and indigenes of Nnewi not to panic as everything is being put in place to make sure they sleep with their eyes closed, stressing that with the aid of Anambra Central Vigilante , Nzukora Security Outfit and other security personnel, there will be no hide out for bandits.
Obiora also encouraged the youths to be resourceful and shun all social vices that might ruin their lives.
He finally commended the present administration, led by Prof Charles Soludo for making sure Anambra becomes the best state of the federation .
