Police nab two killers of gas plant worker in Imo

THE Imo State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the murder of the cashier of a gas plant in the state, Miss Uchechi Joy Nwachukwu. The 36 year old Uchechi Nwachukwu who failed to return home after the closed of work on the said day triggered anxiety among her relatives who reported the incident to the police on 24th October 24, 2022.

   The police spokesman in the state, Mr. Michael Abatam who disclosed this to newsmen said the police undertook a discreet investigation upon the receipt of the report.

  According to ASP Abatam, sufficient suspicion aroused in the investigating cops upon discovering that Miss Nwachukwu who doubles as secretary and cahier with the Halim Gas Station, Toronto, Uratta in Owerri North Local Government Area of the State was trying to move proceeds from the weekly sales to bank on that fateful Tuesday when the incident happened.

 According to the report, the cops armed with forensic equipments failed to find anything incrementing upon searching the premises of the gas station. But not one to easily give up, Mr. Abatam added that the cops moved to the back of the gas plant and saw blood stain on the wall, a discovery that led them to a shallow grave where her killers had interred her remains.

  The police spokesman said; the investigating team on the 26th October, 2022 at about 1200 hours left the police headquarters to the crime scene for investigation armed with sufficient equipment.

  This unfolding revelation gave the team of the detectives an insight into puzzle surrounding the disappearance of the girl and a thorough searching was made in the premises of the entire gas station for clues.

  They moved to the back of the station discovered a shallow grave, inside was a shovel and a cutlass and decomposing body of Miss Joy Uchechi Nwachukwu.

  Consequently, the corpse was exhumed, both the shove and cutlass recovered to the station. Hypothetically, it is reasonably suspected that the two items was the instruments used to commit the act.

  Upon further investigation the two young men were rounded up but the police with held their names with a reason they command knows better promising to reveal their names as the investigation intensifies. The culprits has made useful statement to the police.
