THE new roads being constructed or reconstructed in many parts of Anambra will re-launch the state on global development map.

Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, stated this while speaking during the ninth edition of the annual Anglican prayer rally in Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, on Friday.

Explaining that his administration is embarking on massive re-construction of roads across the state, having awarded or flagged off contract for re-construction of over 200 kilometers of road so far, Gov. Soludo said it is part of his efforts to open up hinterlands as catalysts of economic growth.

Gov. Soludo also said his administration is not only building new roads but will ensure that roads to be delivered meet global best quality and standards.

Throwing more light on the theme of the prayer rally Gov. Soludo called for robust ecumenism among all religious denominations in Anambra State to restore the glory of Anambra as a Christian State.

According to the governor, parents and churches should always ask questions about the source of wealth of some individuals instead of glorifying.

This, the governor said, will reduce high-rate of kidnappings and other crimes in society.

High points of the rally featured special prayer for Gov.  Soludo and his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.

Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of Protocol in Government House, Awka, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, among others were among government dignitaries that attended the rally.
