Anambra born Gabe Okoye leads eight Nigerian winners in US elections – Buhari reacts

AN INDIGENE of Anambra State resident in United States, Gabe Okoye, is leading seven other Nigerian Americans who were victorious in the country’s midterm elections.

  While Okoye, Segun Adeyina, Solomon Adesanya, Tish Naghise, and Phil Olaleye won their legislative seats as State Representatives in their districts.

  In Georgia State, Carol Kazeem won the Pennsylvania State Representative in District 159 while Esther Agbaje was re-elected as Minnesota State Representative in District 59B.

  Similarly, Dr Oye Owolewa was also re-elected to the U.S. House of Representatives (Shadow Representative) in Washington D.C.

  Congratulating them on their victory, President Muhammadu Buhari prayed for their successful tenure in office while describing their feats as “clear demonstration of the Nigerian spirit of excelling both at home and abroad.”

  According to Buhari, “these compatriots who succeed in good causes are assets to the nation and their contributions will always be remembered and celebrated.”
