St Jude Society, Aquinas Parish marks feast

ST JUDE’S Society, St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, G.R.A, Awka, Friday ,  held their annual Patron Saints Feast.

 The occasion was grand as the members, together with other gusts had a get together in honour of St Jude.

  In an interview, the Chairman, Sir Mike Ogbozoor stated that it is a wonderful society, pointing out that they are doing their best to promote St Jude, the wonder worker.

  He said thus: “I advise people to enter St Jude Society and see what we are seeing. I am a member from childhood till today.. I am aware of the benefits.”

  On his part, Mr Martin Ezeonwumere said that since he entered St Jude, “he has done uncountable wonders in my family. My first son, Jude, whom we got through his intercession has been a miracle since childhood.

  As I said, the goodness of God through St Jude in my family is uncountable .”

   The vice chairman, Chief Ikiechukwu Okoye said: “We celebrate our patron saint.  It’s a day he set aside by the church . He has been a great wonder worker, a saint needed in desperate cases. He has been good to us that is why we are his zealous devotees; A saint of impossibilities.”

  Prof Ify Emejulu, thanked God for the good heart of the members.

  He said: “It’s a kind of family. We did not contribute money for this great feast. People donated from their kindness. We love each other, we are one big family.”

  On her part, the secretary of the society, Mrs Beatrice Nnabuife said that the feast came up after their nine days novena to the great saint, Jude. “Thanksgiving and get together is a good thing. After prayers to God, we celebrate the feast. It’s a way of bringing us together. We remember God and our past and ask God for forgiveness. It also enables us to relate well with ourselves in the love of God,” she said.
