No order to arrest prominent Anambra citizens over revenue – Govt




CONTRARY to a report trending on some social media outlets, there is no order by the state government to arrest some prominent citizens of Anambra State over flying revenue windows in their control.

  Describing the report as fake news fabricated by those behind it for reasons best known to them, a statement issued by government said not only was there no such order but also urged ndi Anambra to disregard the report as a handiwork of mischievous elements.

  Speaking through the release which was issued by him, yesterday, Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Christian Aburime said the report exposed itself by adding that so-called prominent citizens would be arrested if they refuse to appear before Chairman of Anambra State Flying Revenue Committee and Deputy Governor of Anambra State by today.

  “The attention of Government of Anambra State has been drawn to a news report making the rounds with the above heading.

  The report is fake news, fabricated by person(s) whose objective is unknown. It is baseless and unfounded. Ndi Anambra are therefore advised to totally disregard the report as fictitious, malicious and a figment of the imagination of the writer.

  Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, is committed to the enthronement of transparency and promotion of law and order, being one of the five pillars of his administration.

  Ndi Anambra are urged to continue to support the state government’s vision of building a liveble and prosperous smart mega-city,” the statement reads.

  Aburime, therefore, urged ndi Anambra to continue to support the state government’s effort to boost internally generally revenue (IGR) vital to transforming Anambra into livable and prosperous homeland amid persistent dwindling federal allocation.
