Jubilation as Prof Igwe, family dedicate baby boy after 16 years’ wait

ST THOMAS Aquinas Catholic Church, G.R.A, Awka was agog as people of all calibers came to celebrate with Prof Ernest Igwe and his wife, Oby, for the dedication of their son after 16 years of having  their first issue.

   In the Mass that featured baptism and child dedication, the parish priest, Fr. Francis Oranye and a visiting priest, Fr Ralph Agbanu thanked God for all the babies baptised and dedicated that day.

  In an interview with FrAgbanu, who came from St Mat Ifitedunu, he stated that Prof Igwe was his parishioner at St Paul’s Catholic Church, Achalla-Umuchu from 2012 to 2018 (6 years).

  He said: “We have prayed for long and God  answered at last in a gracious and magnanimous manner .

  We are here to thank God”.

  He also advised couples seeking fruit of the womb to always trust in God, for he will do everything, in his faithfulness.

  On her part, Mrs Julie Nkebisis said: “ God did a great work, it’s not easy for couple to live in love for 16 years .We thank God and we are happy. We pray God Almighty to reach other families seeking for fruit of the womb.

Mrs Benerdin Ezenyilimba stated thus: “ Oby is my sister in the Lord and her husband is my former dean, Faculty of Agriculture, UNIZIK, Awka. God is awesome and very faithful. Just hold unto his promise, he will never fail. I thank God for his patience and perseverance. I pray that God will continue to bless them.

 On their parts, Prof Mathew Ono, Samuel Mary Obiora, Arthur Onweluzo and Prof Tessy Anigbogu stated that they were in joy in God’s greatness made manifest, stating that it is a pointer that God is still God and can never change. They advised couples to emulate from the Igwes and trust in God.

Edwin Nnajiofor sated thus: “I am happy that what is humanly  impossible is possible with God. This is enough for an unbeliever to believe that there is existence of God.

  While on her part, Mrs Nnajiofor said:  “ I thank God for my sister-in-law. She stood to conquer and at last, God blessed her with her heart’s desire .God is the only one that crowns kings.”

  Dignitaries that came for the event included the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi  Azikiwe Uniersity, Awka, Prof Charles Esimone, while highlights included praise and worship season by Jesus the Way Prayer Group, C.C.R.N, Aquinas Parish, Awka.
