SPEAKER of Imo State House of Assembly Anthony Nduka has described the Rotary Club International as a motivational agency to the less privileged in society.
Rt. Hon. Nduka made the remark in his office when he played host to members of Rotary Club International, who paid him a visit to interface with him. Moving back to history line, he said that Rotary Club is known for her humanitarian services and urged them not relent in their service to mankind.
The Speaker, who is also member for Ehime Mbano State Constituency at the state House of Assembly assured the Rotary Club of the House and by extension, the state government’s readiness to play their part as a way of strengthening the aims and objectives for which Rotary Club was established and he wished them well in all their activities in the state and the country in general.
Earlier, the leader of the team and state polio representative, District 9142, Chief Ohajunwa Chukwuma informed the speaker that they have come to interface with him on how best to end polio in our society.
Meanwhile, Rotarian Adedeji David also known as Lion Heart said he came to share some stories on how to end or eradicate polio in Nigeria and Africa, as well as to garner support for government to raise fund to fight polio.
Adedeji expressed optimism that the speaker will use his office to help them achieve their aim.
In his contribution, the immediate past District Governor, PGA Hessan, requested the speaker to add colour to their programme by joining in their road work and seminar to mark their presence in the state.
Also speaking, the former Majority Leader in the Imo State House of Assembly, Dr. Oguike thanked the Speaker for the honour done them, especially having a fruitful deliberation with them. He equally congratulated the speaker for his emergency as the new Speaker of the state Assembly.
