Anambra State Deputy Governor, Onyekachukwu Ibezim has stated that through divine wisdom and prayers from citizens, the Governor, Charles Soludo-led administration’s vision to build Anambra into a liveable and prosperous smart mega city will be actualised.
Dr Ibezim stated this during the burial service of Lady Ezinne Onyema Virginia Ezekakpu, at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Oraeri, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He reiterated that ndi Anambra need to combine efforts with the state government to achieve a greater Anambra.
During the sermon, Bishop of Ekulobia Diocese, His Eminence, Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke, charged Christians to live a life of the spirit and not the life of the flesh to avoid the wrath of God.
He urged Christians to be different as children of God by the way they relate to fellow human beings and to make use of the opportunity granted to them by God to serve Christ, adding that the word of wisdom and understanding is what will help them to overcome all challenges.
“The good deeds of one will follow such a person and there is reward for everyone working in the vineyard of the Lord. Our main target should be running the race of heaven.
“The death of our mother, the late Virginia should teach us to be prepared always because there must be a way one has to meet his maker in heaven”.
First son of the late Virginia, Mr Nnamdi Ezekakpu, expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life to witness the burial ceremony of his late mother.
He described his mother as a kind, strong, brave and loving woman.
” We know that things will never be the same in this world without you because you have left a big vacuum which can never be filled in our hearts. I pray for your soul to rest in peace”.
The event had in attendance, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Ernest Ezeajughi, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor (Office of the Deputy Governor), Ugochukwu Obiefuna, Deputy Chief Protocol to the Governor ( Office of the Deputy Governor), Emma Obiozor, among others.
