A GROUP known as Ihu Igbo Ohuru has called on Igbo sons and daughters both at home and in the Diaspora to unite and pray for the progress of the Igbo nation.

The call was made during a prayer crusade conducted by the group at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, which attracted many Igbo sons and daughters and non-Igbos.

During her opening speech, coordinator of the group, Flora Ifeanyichukwu Nkemakonam Ilonzo traced the chequered history of ndi Igbo in the geo-politics of Nigeria and regretted that ndi Igbo have not received their fare shares of the national commonwealth.

Chief Dr. Ilonzo stated that only prayers and unity can change the narrative. According to her, the idea to convoke the prayer meeting was a revelation from God, stressing that with the successful organisation of the event, the shame placed on ndi Igbo will be wiped off.

Going down the memory lane, Chief Ilonzo remembered that she had a similar revelation in 1985 when she saw a vision of a coup in the country during the military rule. ” When I saw the revelation of a coup and made it known to the leadership of the country, no one believed me, instead I was locked up in a cell by the authorities.

” They only released me when the revelation came to pass. I have gone to cell for the course of ndi Igbo. This time, I saw this divine directive to convoke this prayer meeting to promote the unity of ndi Igbo and to ignite the Igbo spirit and clean their faces of any curse or curses placed on them.”

Speaking further in an interview granted to National Light, she  said that after the prayer, the Igbo race will understand themselves. “There is a lot of deceit among the Igbos. They are not truthful to one another; there is a veil hindering their vision. The aim for this prayer session is for peace to reign, so that they know what they want and will get their right in 2023.”

When asked the reason behind Ihu Igbo Ọhụrụ, she said it was because of her past prophecy.

“It was Okwadike Igbo-Ukwu and Chika Ibeneme that called me because i said in 2022 that Igbo will be liberated so they called me because of Ihu Igbo Ọhụrụ works were divided and they said they will go around and inform people.

“Ihu Igbo Ọhụrụ will remove suffering because our children and even me are suffering a lot and after this,  light will shine on everyone.”

She also revealed that part of the suffering now are because of the curses by the  ancestors which might be as a result of their negligence like parents cursing their children over little things.

She said that the outcome of the event will be peace, prosperity and more growth in  Igbo land after the event.

Many other speakers took the podium, with all of them harping on the need of Igbo unity and divine interventions, especially during the 2023 general elections.

Prayers were said by Christians, Muslims and traditional religionists for the betterment of ndi Igbo.
