Soludo calls for backward integration of Igbo culture

Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has called for the reinvention of Igbo cultural values of hardwork, honesty and perseverance in order to have a peaceful society.

  Governor Soludo made the call during the 2022 Ofala Celebration of  Obi Nnaemeka Achebe of Onitsha.

 The governor advised other communities to emulate the working relationship between the traditional ruler of Onitsha, and his town union executive and called on them to be vigilant to identify criminals in their communities in order to have a safe society.

While appreciating Onitsha people for their rich cultural display during the ofala celebration, the governor described Anambra State as one of the safest states in the country.

The governor promised to embark on massive road construction in Onitsha and the entire state, saying that he has commenced some construction in the city already.

The traditional ruler of Onitsha, Obi Alfred Achebe spoke about their transformational positioning in order to be apace with the imperatives of the 21st century.

He attributed the successes recorded in his 20 years on the throne to his collective working relationship with his people through conferences and lectures with a view to building consensus for better performances.

The Obi of Onitsha further stated that their efforts to come out of poverty will be in vain unless those moral and traditional values bequeathed to them by their ancestors are sustained.

He thanked the governor and other guests, wishing them safe journey back to their destinations.

On his part, the state Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji commended Governor Soludo for his interest in the cultural values of ndi Igbo and promised to continue to assist him to market the culture of ndi Igbo to the world.
