NMA to commence physicians’ week



MEDICAL doctors in  Awka Zone of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State, are to deliberate on “Nigeria’s Healthcare Delivery System and the 2023 Democratic Transition: A Time to Change the Narrative,” during its physicians week slated to commence on the 22nd of this month.

  The association is also to discuss its sub themes, “Mitigating the Impact of Brain Drain on the Dwindling Human Resource for Health in Nigeria” and “Health Sector Reforms in the Face of Emerging Public Health Threats.”

  A press release signed by the Awka Zonal Chairman, NMA, Dr. Emmanuel Umenweke and Chairman, 2022 Physicians Week Planning Committee, Dr. Dim Basil lined out other activities of the group to include visits to the orphanage homes viz:- Community Children’s Home in Awka, slated for the 24th of October, school career talks and health talks at the Girls’ Secondary School, Awka, Igwebuike Grammar School, Awka, and Gran Hermano Academy, in Awka.

  It will be recalled that the week is for doctors to review their work ethics, practice and add recreation to it.
