SUPER Eagles and FC Lorient striker, Terem Moffi has suffered a sprained ankle that will keep him out of action for ‘a few days’ according to his club.

The injury sustained during Saturday’s league game against Reims, saw Moffi fall badly on his ankle in the first half and had to be replaced afterwards.

It was yesterday revealed on FC Lorient’s official club website that the Super Eagles star would miss next weekend’s trip to Troyes as a result of the injury though it failed to disclose length of time the player will miss competitive matches, saying it would be made public in a few days.

Moffi has been one of the most exciting stars in the French top flight, outlining PSG’s duo of Neymar Julian and Kylian Mbappe at some point.

His impressive goal haul also makes him Nigeria’s leading goalscorer in Europe’s top five leagues.

Moffi has started the 2022-2023 league season on fine form, having found back of the net eight times for Lorient in Ligue 1.

He has equally excelled on the home front scoring three goals in his last two games for Nigeria, including a brace against Sao Tome and Principe and one against Algeria in a friendly last month.

Moffi will hope to recover in time to make the Super Eagles’ next matches against Costa Rica and Portugal in November.
