Anambra distributes relief materials to
Awka North flood victims

IN continuation of efforts to cushion suffering and hardship being faced by flood victims in Anambra State, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo has sent food items and other relief materials to affected persons in Awka North Local Government Area.

  Items distributed in each camp including three holding centers in Agueke Primary School, Ugbenu, where over 150 displaced persons are taking refuge and Central School Ugbene, which has over 250 displaced persons and Central School, Awba Ofemmili, with over 500 displaced persons include two live cows, bags of rice and beans, tubers of yam, bags of garri, onions, gallons of red and groundnut oil among others.

  Speaking while delivering the items on behalf of Gov. Soludo, Chairman of Awka North Transition Committee, Mr. Emmanuel Ucheze assured victims of government commitment to their safety, security and comfort while living in the centres.

  Ucheze also used the visit to solicit more support and aids from good spirited individuals and groups to help ameliorate displaced persons’ plight.
