Work progressing in Onitsha, Awka,
Ekwulobia Road projects

One of the roads currently under construction

WORK is going on at advance stage in the newly approved road construction project in various parts of Anambra State.

   A release issued by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Chris Aburime, some of these construction sites include Venn Road, New Market Road, Port-Harcourt Road and Bridge Head Market Roads as well as Niger Street Road, Creek Road, Orlu Street, Ziks Avenue and Oraukwu Street in Onitsha North and South Local Government Areas.

   Others are Club Road, Regina Caeli to Y-Junction, Millennium Industry – INEC – Ekwueme Square, and UNIZIK Temp Site – Okpuno – Isuaniocha Junction as well as Chukwudifu– NECO Office Road in Awka metropolis, Obodoukwu-Obodo-Owerri, Oguagu – Ik Onuorah-Anumudu-Mgbuka-Amazu-Owerri Road in Idemmili North, Edeh Road-School Road-Awalite -Ojoto-Owerri Road and School Road-Umuobom Street-Ojoto Street Junction as well as Umuobom Street – Owerri Road in Idemmili South.

   The list also includes Nanka–Ekwulobia, Ekwulobia – Oko, Ekwulobia–Isuofia, Ekwulobia–Isuofia, Isuofia-Nanka with spur to Nanka-Obi Adimorah Roads in Aguata Roads and Flyover at Ekwulobia Roundabout in Aguata Local Government Area as well as Isu-Igbo River along Isuofia – Ekwulobia Section of Ekwulobia – Nnobi Road.

   Other roads awarded for construction are Mmiata-Anam-Nzam Road (Second Phase) in Anambra West,  Akpaka-Basilica Road, Onitsha, Amansea-Ndukwuenu-Awa-Ufuma Road, Amansea-Awba-Ofemili, dredging of 500m of Mmili John River and flood Control Work at Ogbunike/Ogidi section of Enugu-Onitsha Old Road as well as Oye Agu Abagana-Nimo Road among others.

  Speaking during an inspection tour of some of the projects, today, Gov. Soludo described them as part of his administration’s plans to deliver the best development infrastructure to ndi Anambra.

   “It’s the job given to us by the people. We will continue to do our best to deliver on them. I decided to come by myself because I want to feel what my people pass through as this will help me determine the best for them,” the governor said.
