FEDERAL Government of Nigeria is planning to charge former Aviation Minister and Senator Representing Anambra North, Stella Adaeze Oduah with N7.9 billion fraud and money laundering allegation.

Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, gave the hint in a directive issued to the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, yesterday.

Malami’s directive was brought by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). It asked that Oduah be formally arraigned on the alleged offences.

According to Malami, Oduah and some other associates were to have been docked last year but the proceeding was put off following his request to study the case file and give legal opinion.

Legal experts say Malami’s latest directive has finally cleared the way for Oduah’s arraignment and prosecution in line with the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
