Inspects road rehabilitation work in Obosi

GOVERNOR Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra  state has inspected the 12 kilometer road in Owellaaja Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, known to have been ravaged by flood.

  Governor Soludo while touring the area stated that the inspection would enable him have a firsthand feel on the hardship the people living in the area go through on daily basis.

  Soludo, who maintained that environmental flooding is the topmost existential threat facing the people of the area said that the roads in Obosi are the worst hit by erosion.

  He promised that his government would prioritise the major challenges affecting the people with the hope of alleviating their suffering.

  The governor while adding that four local government areas in the state have been ravaged by flood, promised to find a lasting solution to the perennial flooding which has forced residents of the area to vacate their ancestral homes.

  The governor, who noted that the problems he witnessed in Owellaaja were self inflicted, further advised attitudinal change from people who dispose refuse.

  Some of the residents expressed profound happiness while urging the state government to match words with expected action.
