Grassroots devp, part of our priorities – Ibezim

DEPUTY Governor of Anambra State, Onyekachukwu Ibezim has reiterated call for everyone’s effort towards building Anambra into a liveable, prosperous and smart mega city.

  Dr Ibezim made the call during the Thanksgiving Mass for the flag off of Edward Ibuzo campaign, held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Fegge, Onitsha.

  He maintained that the Governor Charles Soludo’s administration is committed to the actualisation of his campaign promises.

  Dr Ibezim emphasised that grassroots development is among the priority activities of Prof Soludo-led administration and promised not to disappoint ndi Anambra but to work and improve the living standard of the people.

  He charged Onitsha residents to be wise and vote in capable hands that will work for Onitsha Constituency, adding that there is no campaign bigger than supporting the present government.

  He called for collective effort to achieve greater heights for ndi Anambra.

  Speaking during the sermon, Rev. Fr.Anayo  Donatuis Umehi expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life to witness the first Sunday in the month of October.

  Fr. Umehi urged Christians to live Christ-like lives by faith and be their brothers’ keepers.  “The condition for God to forgive us is for us to forgive others, because when you are having grudges in your heart, you can’t serve God well”.

  He charged leaders to see leadership as a call to serve and privilege to help the poor, not an avenue of practicing corruption so as to avoid the wrath of God on themselves.

   The member, representing Onitsha North Constituency 2 and also candidate of All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) for House of  Representatives. Onitsha North and South, Constituency, Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo, while appreciating everyone that graced the Thanksgiving Mass, commended the state government for the good works so far in Onitsha and the entire Anambra.

  According to him, “I am open to any move that will unite Onitsha North and South. Our people are moving towards greatness and this is just the beginning. We must vote with our conscience so as to vote the right person that will ensure everyone gets dividends of democracy from the government”.

  The event had in attendance  dignitaries from far and near, including  the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor (Office of the Deputy Governor),  Ugochukwu Obiefuna , Deputy Chief Protocol to the Governor (Office of the Deputy Governor),  Emmanuel Obieze, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra State Wastes Management Agency (ASWAMA), Mike Ozoemena, commissioners, presidents general, amongst others.
