Attacks on our supporters must stop – L.P  warns

With the kick off of campaign in Nigeria this week, the Labour Party has warned that attacks on her supporters must stop, even as she called on security agencies to rise to their responsibilities.

Speaking in a press statement, the national publicity secretary of the party,  Arabanbi Abayemi expressed sadness on merciless coordinated attacks by the Military Wing of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kastina State on a peaceful Obedient political supporters of Peter Obi .

His words, “Labour Party finds this trend unacceptable and condemns the growing terrorism in APC in virtually all APC controlled states.

“With this reprehensible behavior, it is fast getting clearer that APC has officially adopted violent attack on LP’s presidential candidate supporters across the state of the nation.

“While we wish to abhor all forms of violence, we wish to warn that no political party has the monopoly of crude and organized violence.

Earlier Mr. Peter Obi said the country is in a terrible situation because Nigerians are afraid to speak the truth.

“The party’s presidential hopeful, who spoke during the condolence visit to Gov. Akeredolu Rotomi of Ondo State over the death of his mother, said: “ I urge you to continue in the truth always”

“You represent what Nigerians desire at the present time, you always speak the truth no matter whose ox in gored

“Arm these special security people (Amotekun); take every step to protect your people. It is important and it is your duty”.
