WWE suspends multiple stars indefinitely

WWE has announced the suspension of several superstars for an indefinite period of time.

Due to their behaviour during Tuesday night’s episode of NXT, Gallus’ Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey and Wolfgang have all been suspended.

The faction attacked WWE Officials and security at the end of their match with Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs during last night’s show.

As noted, the entirety of the Gallus faction has been indefinitely suspended by WWE as a result of their actions at the end of last night’s episode of NXT.

When announcing the suspensions, WWE released the following statement, confirming that the trio won’t be appearing on TV for the foreseeable future, via WrestleTalk.

“Due to Gallus’ actions involving the assault of WWE officials and security after their Pub Rules tag team match, Wolfgang, Mark & Joe Coffey have been suspended indefinitely, effective immediately.”

Some have speculated that the trio could be taken off TV now until the launch of NXT Europe, which is slated to take place at some stage in 2023.

The entirety of Gallus were part of NXT UK, becoming three of the British brand’s wrestlers to move over to the US this summer.

Along with the likes of Tyler Bate, Ilja Dragunov and Blair Davenport, Gallus moved over to the American branch of NXT.

The reason for the mass changes is that WWE is reshaping its NXT UK brand, essentially shutting it down in September ahead of a relaunch in 2023.

The old NXT UK will become part of the new NXT Europe brand that is being led by Triple H and Shawn Michaels, which we’re set to learn more about next year.

Some have speculated that Gallus will be moved back over to Europe following the launch of NXT Europe, so perhaps their suspension is a way to keep them off TV with an explanation until then.

Unlike Gallus, the likes of Bate, Dragunov and Davenport are expected to remain as regular fixtures on the NXT brand before moving up to the main roster, when that time comes.

However, it’s always possible that Gallus find themselves back on NXT before too long, despite their indefinite suspension from WWE TV.
