Anambra tops in ANCOPSS schools’ competition in S’East

ANAMBRA has emerged winner of the 2022, Southeast All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) quiz competition.

  The state clinched the top positions in the junior and senior categories with Maryam Ekesi, of Girls Secondary School, Awka, emerging winner in the senior category while Miss Njoku Munachi of Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha, as the winner in the junior category.

  The competition, which took place during ANCOPSS, Mandatory Continuing Professional Training in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, was held between September 21 and 22, 2023.

  Speaking after the competition, Commissioner for Education, Ngozi Chuma-Udeh congratulated the pupils for making Anambra State proud, adding that the mandatory professional training was in line with the continuous teacher upgrade programme of the Soludo administration.

  Prof. Chuma-Udeh expressed appreciation with the South East ANCOPSS for organising the professional training session which provided a platform for Anambra State to demonstrate that Gov. Soludo’s efforts in education is yielding the desired results.

  Also speaking, the President of Anambra State Branch of ANCOPSS, Mr Jovita Arazu, attributed the victory to Mr Governor, Prof.Chukwuma Soludo’s support, adding that it was his passion and commitment to the education of umu akwukwo Anambra that led to the feat.

  The state Debate Coordinator, Mrs Amaka Anaekwe, noted that with this feat, the state will represent the South East region in Bauchi State for the finals of the competition.

  The South East quiz competition is an annual event of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, where the South East states lock horns to decide their representatives at national competition.
