Awka North stakeholders hail Soludo for
Ebenebe-Omor road construction



POLITICAL and community leaders in Awka North Local Government Area, Anambra State, have commended the state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, as he flagged off  the construction of a 26-kilometer road linking  Amansea, Ebenebe, Ugbenu, Awba-Ofemmili, Umuerum, and Omor communities, to open up agricultural potential of the areas.

  The leaders gave the commendation while speaking to the press on the sideline during the event held at Eziogbo Primary School Premises, Amansea, last week.

Among them are the traditional rulers of Amansea and Awba-Ofemmili, Igwe Anigbogwu Peter Chukwuma and Igwe Ezekwesili Maduagwuna, respectively; the traditional prime minister of Ebenebe, High Chief Ezechukwu Joe Nwaegwu and the chairman, transition committee for Awka North LGA, Chief Emmanuel Ucheze. Others include the president general of Ebenebe, Chief Paul Nnatuanya; Chief Chimezie Ikwunne and a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, who represented  Awka North State  Constituency, Chief Boniface Okonkwo.

 Igwe Chukwuma said, the development is a clear indication that Governor Soludo has the interest of the people of the areas and the entire ndi Anambra at heart.

He assured the communities would take the full ownership of the project by providing enabling environment to the construction firm, monitoring and working with the firm, to ensure that it keeps to standard and specification as given by the government.

The Amansea monarch appreciated Governor Soludo for fulfilling his promise, praying God to bless him with more wisdom, guidance and protection.

 His Awba-Ofemmili counterpart, Igwe Maduagwuna, praised God and Governor Soludo, for bringing the  journey started in 2005, when he was a chairman of Awka North LGA to fruition.

Also, the Chairman, Transition Committee for Awka North LGA, Chief Ucheze, was full of praises to Governor Soludo, for promptly responding to the long plea and cry of the people of the areas within six months in office, describing the event as historical.

He noted that the road, when completed, would enhance food production in Anambra as Awka North and Ayamelum  LGAs are the food baskets of the state.

To the traditional prime minister of Ebenebe, High Chief Nwaegwu, the road flag-off is a Governor Soludo’s promise fulfilled.

 The traditional prime minister stressed that the governor had after plying the deplorable road during his electioneering campaign in the area, felt embittered and made a firm promise that he would work on the road when he becomes the governor of the state.

In their separate speeches, Chief Nnatuanya, Chief Ikwunne, and Chief Okonkwo said, the construction of the road is long overdue, pointing out that Governor Soludo has, through the laudable project, endeared his administration to the people.
