Work commences on Awba-Ofemili-Amansea road

GOVERNOR Soludo has flagged-off rehabilitation of Awba-Ofemili-Amansea road which is 26 kilometers.

  The road, which will have a minimum of 20 years life span will be completed within 16 months.

  Performing the function, the governor, who stated that 50 percent of the contract sum has been mobilised for the contractor, reiterated that construction of the project is in fulfilment of his campaign promise.

  The governor promised a bridge across Ezu River to connect the road to Ayamelum, which will make it easier for the people to access the state capital without much stress.

  Commissioner for Works, Ifeanyi Okoma, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, stakeholders and members of the community, among others, witnessed the flag-off ceremony which took place at Eziogbo Primary School, Amansea, Awka North LGA.

  Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter, Emeka Obi, in his remarks noted that Awka North Local Government Area is blessed with fertile land for agricultural produce and once the road is completed, it will open up the agro communities connecting the area.

  He expressed optimism that the area will blossom once the road is completed.

  He also encouraged Governor Soludo to keep making Anambra youths proud, promising their unalloyed support.
