ANAMBRA State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo has stated that his administration will champion massive youth empowerment, job creation and wealth creation to accelerate economic growth and development in Anambra State.
The governor, who said he was passionate about the untapped potential of Anambra youth in his address on the occasion of Anambra Fashion Expo 2022, expressed the readiness of his government to impact on the youths through training and empowerment.
While commending the organisers of the event, the governor assured of support in the next edition since the agenda is to engage and empower youths and create wealth.
He noted that his passion for made in Anambra products can’t be measured, adding that the state will look for a way to encourage those that participated.
Chief of Staff to Governor Soludo, Mr Ernest Ezeajuhi and the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA), Chief Jude Emecheta, fashion and creative industry have vast opportunities that can engage thousands of youths if well managed.
They expressed confidence that if Anambra youths can key into the opportunities in the industry, crime and unemployment will be reduced as many youths will be engaged meaningfully.
Senator Representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife, noted that the fashion expo is an eye opener and called on Anambra youths to utilise the opportunity well as the governor has promised to mobilise the youths who have skills with funds to expand their ideas.
Convener of the programme, Miss Adora Soludo, in her address, stressed the need for youths to engage in skill acquisition and maintained that her goal was to showcase what Anambra has in terms of creativity and encourage the consumption of locally made products.
The event held at the Anambra State International Convention Center, featured music performance, fashion expo of all kinds and comedy among others.
Inspection of the made in Anambra products by the governor and the dignitaries climaxed the event.
