Anambra Local Government, Ministry staff get ICT training



ANAMBRA State Government has commenced four-day training on ICT for staff of Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs.

  Commissioner in charge of the ministry, Collins Nwabunwanne, who spoke during  the training on  basic office applications, graphics and internet skills for the staff  at the Government House, Awka, said the state government will provide computers for the staff of the ministry for effective service delivery.

  Mr Nwabunwanne, who extolled Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his largesse said the governor is out to ensure that all the junior and senior staff are ICT compliant, which is one of his visions of ensuring a livable and  smart mega city for the citizenry as Governor Soludo has proposed.

  The local government boss called on the staff to utilise the training to upgrade themselves, stressing that the training  will go a long way to making them computer compliant, more efficient, productive and marketable.

  Addressing the participants, the permanent secretary of the ministry ,Pauline Nwandu, who extolled Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Commissioner Nwabunwanne for organising the training for the staff ,explained that the aim of the  ICT training is to foster excellence, enhance workflow and empower staff of the ministry,  explaining  that the staff can produce more within a short space  of time freeing up resource to do more.

  Nwandu urged the staff to embrace the training  as it will prepare them for better future.

  A resource person from  Pacent Technology Limited, Dr Ikechukwu Umeh educated the staff on  positions of ICT, how to use computers to produce documents by themselves and use it in online environments targeted purely on making the staff ICT compliant.

  He urged them to be punctual and attentive  to gain the best out of the training to compliment the efforts of the government.

  Some of the participants, Mrs Grace Ginikanwa, Ifeanyi Amaobi, Chinenye Obidimma , Ijeoma Ilekuba, Nneka Anoliefo and Helen Okwusogu thanked the state government for the training and promised to use the knowledge garnered to improve on their services .
