2023: Atiku, Obi, no threats – Tinubu

Plot to remove Ayu thickens ahead PDP’s NEC meeting, today

FORMER Governor of Lagos State and All Progressives Congress (APC)’s candidate for next year’s presidential election, Senator Bola Tinubu, has dismissed his People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party counterparts, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively as no threats to his victory.

Tinubu made the assertion while fielding questions from newsmen in Abuja on arrival to the ruling party’s secretariat to submit list of nominees APC campaign council to its National Working Committee (NWC) with his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, yesterday.

Explaining his political clout and goodwill across the country as basis of his confidence of winning the presidential election ahead of candidates of other parties, Tinubu chided PDP for their lingering in-house bickering.

Tinubu also accused Labour Party and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) standard bearers of bandying fake statistics.

“We are not threatened. We are committed and we are very proud of ourselves, we are orderly mannered, we are committed to democratic principles and values; we are not bickering in any way and you know that. Can you say that of the other parties? We are not spilling fake statistics and wrong figures; can you say that of other parties? Well, we are what we are, a progressive party,” he said.

In a related development, as embattled National Chairman of PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, perfects his survival strategies ahead the opposition party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for today, a fresh plot for Ayu’s removal by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike is thickening.
