Anambra begins enumeration, branding of commercial motorcyclists



ANAMBRA State Government is set  to commence enumeration, branding and certification of commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as Okada riders in the state.

 COMMISSIONER for Information, Paul Nwosu, disclosed this while receiving members of Anambra Professional Photographers and Videographers Association, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Awka.

  Nwosu stressed the need for enumeration, certification and validation of their members to know their numerical strength, noting that the enumeration, branding and certification processes are in line with measures already taken by government to ascertain who is who in a given environment, which he said are very important to the administration of ProfessorChukwuma Soludo.

  He urged them to spread out their membership to all communities in the state for the association to add more value, even as he reminded members of the Anambra Professional Photographers and Videographers Association that they are into the business of image making, and  that their work is beyond taking pictures and videos in return for money, urging them help security personnel with timely information at all times.

  He further  stated that government is in the process of reviewing over 200 laws and introducing new ones, and charged members of the association to be creative; while doing their work in a responsible manner, in order to bring dignity to their work, which he said has limitless opportunities.

   Chairman of Anambra Professional Photographers and Videographers Association, Comrade Obinna Okonkwo, said that their visit was to familiarise with the commissioner, brief him on the activities of the association and to discuss possible areas of collaboration, which they believe will build a strong and mutual relationship.
