Soludo unveils policy document on youth empowerment

ALL is set for a total overhaul of Anambra’s youth development structure.

  Gov. Chukwuma Soludo gave the hint in Awka while addressing members of Youths Earnestly Seek Solution (YESS) during an event to mark the organisation’s three-year anniversary.

  The governor said government’s new devotion to youth development is not only in line with his campaign promise, but also borne out of his commitment to seeing Anambra youth becoming employers of labour and assuming leadership positions in other sectors.

  Describing the youth as bedrock of his government, Prof. Soludo explained the point as reason behind setting aside N2.5 billion for youth engagement and empowerment in the revised budget.

  Speaking while unveiling Anambra’s policy document on youth empowerment programme, Prof Soludo recalled hurdles which members of the group passed through to support his gubernatorial ambition, stressing that they were the first group to endorse him.

  Gov. Soludo also commended YESS for animating government’s disruptive change policy to a movement, adding that it underscores what Nigeria stands to gain from youth participation in politics.
