Body pledges to renovate school, NYSC Lodge

A NON-GOVERNMENTAL organisation, I G Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation has taken up the task of renovating Ezike High School, Nibo, in line with Anambra State government’s goal of raising community schools to smart schools and offering scholarships to students.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony for the renovation of the school, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh reiterated government’s stance to raise community schools to smart schools.
She appreciated the efforts of philanthropists in the likes of Chief I. G Aguowo that have taken up the task of supporting the government’s drive to push the educational sector forward by adopting schools.
She stated that it is disheartening to see the deplorable state of community schools while prominent men and women in those communities do nothing, watching infrastructures fall apart and students learn under such conditions.
The commissioner called on individuals who are products of community schools to give back to the school and community that helped shape their lives.
She disclosed that the Soludo-led administration aims to restore education to its place of pride and honour in the hearts of umu akwukwo Anambra.
In her remark, the Executive Secretary,Post Primary School Service Commission, Lady Stella Oraukwu enjoined individuals to live a life of giving, stating that investing in the education of others, is a way of leaving an imprint in the sands of time.
The President General, Nibo Town Union, Prof Nwokoye appreciated the effort of the government in restructuring the state and pledged that the Nibo community will constantly support the government in making the state livable.
He stated that the renovation of the classroom blocks and Corpers’ Lodge will be completed in three months.
I G Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit Organisation which was born out of passion and love to reach out to the less privileged in society and help them acquire quality education as well as have sound health.
The foundation offers scholarships to students ranging from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions as well as health sponsorship to both young and old who cannot afford quality health services.
