Laity Council Convention holds on Sunday in Awka

PRESIDENT of Deanery Awka 1 Catholic Laity Council of Nigerian Awka Diocese (CLCNAD), Jerry Chukwuemeka Obodo, has underscored the importance of undergoing constant and comprehensive healthcare checkups, noting that longevity is a product of healthy lifestyle.

  Sir Chukwuemeka stated this while speaking to National Light on the 2022 maiden edition convention of the Deanery Awka 1, that will feature free medical checkup as one of the activities the council will promote to enable healthy living among themselves, through checking their blood pressure, sugar level, among others, including health teaching through the Managing Director, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, cultural display, among others.

  He explained, that the essence of the convention, which will hold on Sunday, at New St. Patrick Cathedral, Awka, is to bring the lay faithful of Deanery Awka 1, which has about 15 parishes and chaplaincies into an umbrella, with the aim of praying for the success of the dioceses and Nigeria, communing and hearing the of word God by celebrating Mass by 10 am, which the Catholic Bishop of Awka Dioceses, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor will officiate.

  Sir Chukwuemeka further expressed that “some credible persons are nominated for award in different capacities using the criteria of good character, achievements, impacts, professional excellence, spiritual levels in serving God, among other qualities. This is to encourage them to do more work and ginger others by letting them know that it’s pays to do a good jobs in whatever position you fine yourselves”.

  The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Newspapers and printing Corporation ( ANPC), publishers of National Light, Ka O Di Taa and   SportslightXTRA newspapers,  Sir ChukaNnabuife, Sir Victor Umeh, Chief EmekaIgwe, among other will be given  awards

  Royal fathers of the day include the traditional ruler of Abagana, Igwe Mbamalu Patrick Okeke, EzeUzu 2 of Awka,  Obi  Gibson Nwosu, Igwe Michael Idigo of  Aguleri, among others.
