Abducted Catholic priest, seminarian regain freedom

DEPUTY Registrar of Spiritan University, Nneochi, Rev. Fr Chinedu Nwadike and a seminarian, Emmanuel Nwafor, who were kidnapped on Friday, along Enugu-Okigwe Expressway have been released.
Their abductors had placed N50m ransom as the condition for their release. It was not confirmed if any ransom was paid before their release as of the time of filing this report.
It was gathered that they were released around the Nnochi-Ihube axis, the same area they were kidnapped on Friday.
The priest’s younger brother, Chikezie Nwadike said: “Do kindly rejoice with us, my relative, Rev. Fr (Dr.) Chinedu Nwadike, has eventually regained freedom. He and the seminarian were released Sunday evening unhurt to the glory of God.
“We express our grateful appreciation for your prayers. May God bless you.”
He said that the family was grateful to God for the release of his elder brother and the seminarian.
