Kwara: 17-yr-old pupil fails exam, commits suicide

A 17-year-old secondary school student, one Adegoke Adeyemi, has committed suicide for allegedly failing to pass his promotion examination from SS1 to SS 2.

  His lifeless body was found dangling on a tree behind a hotel in Offa, yesterday.

  Residents said Adeyemi was a student of Offa Grammar School who had complained bitterly to his playmates before he committed suicide.

  According to them, he had consecutively failed SS2 promotion examination and also complained against being asked to repeat the SS1.

  A statement released by the spokesperson of Kwara State Police Command, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the incident.

  According to him, Adeyemi’s corpse has been removed and deposited in General Hospital Offa for autopsy while investigation is ongoing.
