Registry of Anambra’s native doctors’ll flush out criminals, fakes – Ibezim
ANAMBRA State Government says the ongoing enumeration exercise of traditional or native doctors in the area is to standardise and sanitise the system in line with international best practices.
The state’s deputy governor, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, who made this known while speaking with journalists at Government House, Awka, said that the project would enable it flush out criminals and fakes among them.
Dr Ibezim pointed out that the traditional doctors are being categorised into herbalists and spiritualists, saying that government had discovered that some native doctors provide charms that give criminals the audacity to carry out their nefarious crimes.
He appreciated some of the native doctors who add value to the health care system by discovering potent herbs that could cure acute illnesses and debunked the rumor making the rounds that government had engaged the services of traditional spiritualists to combat insecurity in the area.
