A native of Ezinifite in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Kosarachukwu Ugwuka, has killed his elder brother, one Chukwudi Ugwuka following disputes over a piece of land.
Kosarachukwu made the confession before a popular shrine in Nando, Anambra East Local Government Area, yesterday, after he was dragged to the deity in connection with his brother who has been missing since Sunday, July 10.
Making the confession after an oath was administered to him and a nephew through some liquid drinks, Kosarachukwu said he killed Chukwudi by poisoning him to death
According to a family member who shared the story on social media, Kosarachukwu had earlier denied his involvement in his brother’s death until he was taken to the shrine.
“Two people were accused of Chukwud’s death. They were Kosarachukwu and a nephew. When both of them were repeatedly interrogated, the nephew maintained that he was innocent while Kosarachuwu also continued to deny that he did not have any hand in the death. As a result, the villagers had to resort to using traditional means to unravel the truth. They took them to a popular shrine at Nando on Sunday, July 10 to swear before the deity to prove their innocence. After his nephew had sworn and was vindicated, Kosarachukwu was hooked ad instantly blinded by the deity while swearing which made him to confess immediately. It was during the confession that he revealed that he killed his elder with rat poison because of land dispute,” the family member said.
