There’s dignity in labour – Omenugha tells youth

THE Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment Programme, Nelson Omenugha has called on  Amansea youths to develop more interest on skill acquisition programmes that can lead them into business enterprises, attract more progress in their communities and Anambra State.

   Dr Omenugha said this during the youths general meeting held at Amansea Town Hall, which attracted the President General of Amansea Development Union, Chris Ughanze, the President, National Youth Council of Nigeria and his vice, Ambassador Sukubo Sara-igbe, and Amb. Innocent, among many others.

   While addressing the youths, Dr Omenugha assured that the present administration led by Professor Chukwuma Soludo will impact in the community especially on Amansea Road, along Enugu/Onitsha Expressway and urged them to desist from any form of immoral behavior and criminality.

  In his words: “It is important to utilise your youthful age. Be consistent in your business. We want to train those who would like to learn how to plant solar system. The training will enable them to become experts. Governor Soludo is more interested in bringing a lot of people out of poverty.”

  “We will first access your capability to know how serious you are. You will be trained for two months only if you are a serious minded person. I want to encourage you to be patient and consistent in anything you are doing

  Moreover, Dr Omenugha gifted some graduates among the youths with text books each, which he said would help to energise their moral in education.

  While addressing the need for a progressive and formidable community, the president of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ambassador Sukubo Sara-igbe charged the youths to take their community as their first priority, build it to attract investors and develop themselves.

  “Today, drug abuse is one of the challenges facing the youths. Idle mind, unemployment, sadness, hopelessness, unable to acquire knowledge, poverty and many more leads to drug addiction. It will only give you comfort at a moment but will destroy you in the nearest minutes.”

  On his part, the President General of Amansea Development Union, Chris Ughanze charged the youths to use their intelligence to work for the good and betterment of Amansea, be peaceful and law abiding citizens, adding that the primary reasons of the gathering centered on unity and to give  them the opportunity to undergo skill acquisition programmes.

  In their separate speeches, the owner of an auto mechanic company in the community, Nwanneka Nwankwo, and the MD/CEO of Eziafa Furniture based in Nsukka, Chukwuemeka Igwebuike advised the youths to develop passion for handwork and channel it towards attracting contracts from government, noting that it will not only make them to be focused but enlighten them.
