Anambra youths urged to key into govt’s skill acquisition prog
ANAMBRA youths have been urged to key into the state government’s empowerment and skill acquisition programmes to be gainfully employed.
Anambra State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, made the call while inaugurating a two-day Business Entrepreneurship Development on Compost manure, Piggery, Fishery and Grass Cutter Production, yesterday.
The programme was organised by Rural Finance Institution Building Programme office of Agricultural Development Programme, Awka.
Addressing the participants who were selected from 10 local government areas, Ihejiofor restated the readiness of Anambra State government to migrate to regenerative agriculture for a more healthy agricultural produce that will guarantee healthy living.
Also speaking, State Manager of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN) Mrs. Chito Onuzulike explained that SMEDAN is a federal government agency mandated to facilitate the growth and development of Micro, Small and medium Enterprises that drive every nation’s economy.
Earlier in a keynote address, Acting Director Planning, Ministry of Economic Planning Budget and Development Partners, Mr. Arthur Iweanya encouraged the participants to take up the listed business entrepreneurship on a commercial basis.
The event featured practical lecture on compost manuring and piggery as well as a question-and-answer session.
